8th Grade English - This is a full year course that focuses on many different areas:  literature, grammar, vocabulary, and writing.

English II - This course is required and divided into 2 semesters.  Once semester involves composition and grammar, and the other semester focuses on World Literature.

       Composition & Grammar - Students will review the fundamentals of grammar and write a variety of different compositions. 

        World Literature - Students will read a variety of short stories, novels, and poetry from various countries.  Students will also do journal responses, assignments, and projects that correlate with the various reading assignments.

        ***Both the World Literature and the Composition and Grammar classes will go through a vocabulary book to expand their horizons.

Technical Business Writing - This is a one semester course.  The class is designed for the junior or senior level and will be most beneficial for those students interested in technical school.  Technical Business Writing is designed to teach students the basics of business writing.  The class focuses on writing for a specific purpose.  Students will write various types of letters, reports, and instructions.  It will also contain a career unit that focuses on resumes and the job search process from the writing perspective.

Advanced Research & Writing - This is a one semester course.  The class is designed for seniors and will be most beneficial for those students interested in a college/university  Research & Writing is designed to allow students the chance to improve their research skills and master advanced writing prior to college entrance.  .  The class focuses on writing for a specific purpose.  Students will write various types compositions and do research at a number of different levels.
